Salsa Meets Jazz for Puerto Rico at Le Possion Rouge, NYC


On Monday, October 23, 2017, the 19-piece multi-Grammy nominated Bobby Sanabria and the Multiverse Big Band invoked the Village Gates’s legendary Monday night Salsa Meets Jazz Series. Also, Sanabria hosted a star-studded benefit concert to to raise money and support for musicians in Puerto Rico through the efforts of the Jazz Foundation of America.

Special guests included Latin Grammy Lifetime Award recipient and Fania All-Star Larry Harlow; NEA Jazz Master Candido; Fania All-Star Eddie Montalvo; NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera; NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Owens; Randy Brecker; David Amram; Jon Faddis; vocalist Brenda Feliciano, jazz and blues vocalist Antoinette Montague and poets Felipe Luciano and Mariposa among others.
