New Caracas (NOS) Releases Album Inspired by the Latin Diaspora

On September 13, 2018, the Rockwood Music Hall will present the alternative Latin band, New Caracas, who will perform material from the upcoming album, NOS and be joined by guest musicians, Alea, Madam, Zac Zinger, Josh Plotner, and Eleni.

The new collection of songs draws from the experiences of immigrants worldwide and seeks to bring attention to the current exodus to Venezuela, which is one of the most massive migrations South America has seen in recent times. Also, the group delivers a message of hope and captures the struggles, dreams and the yearning of immigrants in the United States.

New Caracas was founded in 2012 by Luis D’Elias, PJ Duffy, Brendan Pajak, and Evan Waaramaa and defines itself as s collective that crafts a vast soundscape of melodies and sounds from the South American folklore and traditions.

With an eclectic group of musicians from the NYC area and a singular vision, NOS seeks to expand Latin music and create a community based around the sounds and colors of Latin America.
